For me this quote means… Let it go. That THAT is the the answer to everything. Now, I’m not talking a sarcastic brush off, but a spiritual “giving it Up to God” kind of letting go. Because like the river which will always flow slowly away beneath us… Life happens around us, beyond our control, right under us… So open your grip, and let it slip between your fingertips. Let it flow on and grab the next handful of life in front of you. =)
For me, I don’t think I miss my mother any more on holidays than I do when I can’t sleep & I reach to call her because I think she’s working the night shift and fiddling with her phone, or when I’m hurting & I just want to lay in bed next to her and watch a funny movie, or when I drive my truck (which was hers) and I remember her singing off key while she drove wildly.
I can tell you I am certainly not over my mother’s death, even now years later. But really, how long does it take to forget your mother? I hope never.
But I am content with the loss of her, I am grateful to have had the 19 amazing years with her I had & grateful still to have today even without her because I am with myself, my daughter, my partner, & everyone who makes up my family & community.
While my mother was alive she taught me how to survive, as a mother should. With her death my mother taught me to live well and live now.
For those of you who’ve lost your mother or any loved one: I know it hurts, believe me I do, but the pain lessens over memories and the joy increases. I wish you the best in your process, and wish you all a happy and joyful Mother’s Day.
I am passionate about sharing what I know, there’s a community in honest sharing & I enjoy talking with people &/or making them aware of ways to live healthy and happily. I enjoy helping them do that with what I do best: writing & my other creative endeavors in health like making safe, & 100%, obsessively natural cosmetics. I believe that the things we put on our body should be beneficial to us, not hurt us with their caustic ingredients, which is why I started making my own cosmetics & later why I started selling ‘spa quality’ so to speak, cosmetics for realistic, every-man prices. I believe that safety is not saved for the elites, it is a right that we all have access to. I am like I saide passionate about health & happiness & parenting is a part of that, so I strive to provide information on all relative topics… from the environment we need to protect for our kids, from the products we pt on their bodies, the food we feed them, & how we speak & interact with them, etc. Maybe the best way to put it is that I am passionate about life, living well through each day & I hope to share that with as many people as possible.
This post does have rules. (It’s my blog. I can do what I want.)
1. If you break it you buy it. If you read it, you interact with it.
2. If you don’t plan to participate, do not continue reading, do no pass go, do not collect $200.
We all have a cause.
We all have something that lights our fire, puts us on a soap box, and makes us want to do something to change the world.
Whether we share religious beliefs, core values, race, age, education, social status, blah, blah, blah—I have to think that we all want to make the world a better place.
Some of us express it better than others.
Some of us like to “stir the pot” and get people thinking.
Some of us are good “support staff”.
Some of us are good leaders.
Some of us are good followers.
Whatever your personality…

Often times doing the right thing for ourselves is the same as doing the right thing for our environment, I think God made it that way. He knew we needed an Earth to live, & knew that we’d want to live. I’m a believer that my HP wants the best for me & that nature also is ruled by him, we are equal to it, not above it. The symbiotic relationship of nature & humanity runs deep. One of my favorite controversial books on the subject is The Secret in the Soil, check it out if you’re interested in the science of nature (it’s explained in pretty lay terms so don’t be intimidated, it’s meant to be enjoyable reading that also educates, or at least I find it as such). I hope you enjoy these pictures I’m re-blogging, they’re educational & also simply & poignantly beautiful.
Every time you don’t follow your inner guidance, you feel a loss of energy, loss of power, a sense of spiritual deadness.
My spirit is directly associated with my consciousness. This quote from Shakti Gawain above talks about that feeling of disappointing yourself, or acting against your better judgement.
When I do something against my better judgement or morality, ignoring my conscious, I can feel my spirit quiver. It becomes disturbed, uncomfortable. And as cold bodies shiver in order to create body heat, so my spirit shivers. As it shakes, so it loses shards of itself- like small icicles falling off of tree branches when the wind sets in between the frosted cedars. And so I loose a little of myself each time my spirit shakes, each time telling me: something’s wrong. Should I choose to listen, I’d hear it say: stop, think about it in its entirety before you act.
